The RAEX agency has compiled an annual rating of the top 100 schools in Russia in terms of the competitiveness of graduates. It presents educational institutions from 26 regions of the country. The top three are schools from Moscow and Chelyabinsk.
The list of the 100 best schools in Russia includes educational institutions from 26 regions of the country. At the same time, exactly half of the participants – 50 – are in Moscow and the Moscow region, followed by St. Petersburg (9 schools), the Republic of Tatarstan (5 schools), Novosibirsk and Chelyabinsk regions (4 schools each).
The three winners of the rating have not changed over the year: these are the MSU SSC, the Moscow Lyceum “Second School” and the Chelyabinsk Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 31. The top 10 ranking also includes the Lomonosov Moscow State University Gymnasium, the Republican Lyceum for Gifted Children ( Saransk), Presidential Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 239 (St. Petersburg), Physics and Technology Lyceum named after Kapitsa (Dolgoprudny, Moscow Region), School No. 2007 FMS (Moscow), Vologda Multidisciplinary Lyceum and Moscow School in the South-West No. 1543.
“The number of schools focused on working with talented children is growing in the top 100 of the RAEX rating. Such elite educational institutions are increasingly pushing aside mass schools, “schools for everyone,” – said Dmitry Grishankov, General Director of the RAEX rating agency (RAEX-Analytica). “At the same time, if in previous years the universities that created sponsored structures were the main driver of development of the best schools, today the authorities are also showing attention to the development of elite schools”.
Simultaneously with the rating of the top 100 schools in terms of the competitiveness of graduates, the RAEX agency published a list of 300 schools leading in terms of the absolute number of admitted to the leading universities in Russia. Unlike the competitiveness rankings, the schools on the list are ranked without adjusting for the number of graduating classes. The largest supplier of students to leading Russian universities is the HSE Lyceum, the second and third positions were taken by the Bauman Engineering School No. 1580 and the Moscow State University SSC.
School leaders told the TASS agency how they had achieved good results. The leading positions in the ranking are traditionally occupied by schools operating at universities. So, among the schools of the Siberian Federal District, the Novosibirsk Physics and Mathematics School of the Specialized Educational and Scientific Center of Novosibirsk State University (SUNC NSU) is in first place, where 500 gifted children not only study, but also live on the basis of a boarding school.
“We have created a special and unique scientific environment for the Novosibirsk Scientific Center. In fact, we are not really a school, but a part of one of the best universities in the country, hence the result, ”said the school’s director Nikolai Yavorsky.
They actively involve students in the scientific and project environment and in the specialized educational and scientific center of the Ural Federal University (Ural Federal University), where teachers develop their own programs based on federal state standards. For example, so-called high-level physics Olympiads are held in the center, where students gather in a group, with which their own team of teachers subsequently works.
“There is absolutely no school level for studying physics here, a lot of independent workload, solving experimental problems. Such a mode of operation is not suitable for everyone – it is the ability to work for a long time in a high load mode, a quick response, ”said Olga Inisheva, deputy director for scientific work of SSCC Ural Federal University.
More attention is paid to the development of the Olympiad movement in the Bryansk City Lyceum No. 1 named after A. Pushkin, which has become the leader among schools in the Central Federal District (CFD). The Lyceum is confident that it is the Olympiads that help not only find talents, but also assess the intellectual potential of the country as a whole, prepare future highly qualified personnel. Moreover, in this institution, active work with the Olympiads begins already from high school. “This year we have implemented the project“ Lyceum – Small University ”, where we attract even fifth-graders to the Olympiad movement,” said the director of the Lyceum, Yuri Klyuev.
Kazan Lyceum No. 131, which topped the rating of the best schools in the Volga region, is talking about preserving the old, well-proven education system as the key to success.
“Of course, we use information technologies, we are not aloof from modern informatization, but the general education system, which has proven itself for many decades, is not rejected by us. I believe that the main success lies in this, ”said the head of the lyceum Alfiya Khabibullina.
They try to build an individual educational trajectory for each student at the Republican Lyceum for Gifted Children in Mordovia, where 123helpme.me children from 30 regions of the country are now studying. At the same time, the teachers believe that the main achievement of the lyceum is not the creation of “greenhouse conditions” for children, but, on the contrary, the desire to give children maximum opportunities for self-development. They also pay great attention to the motivation of students. So, the winners of international and All-Russian Olympiads, as well as teachers, are paid bonuses from the head of the Republic of Mordovia, Lyceum director Yevgeny Vdovin told TASS.
In Lyceum No. 5 named after Yu. A. Gagarin in Volgograd, they practice a creative approach to education. So, for example, to identify gifted children in the institution, weekly intellectual marathons are held in all subjects. The emphasis is on team competition.
“Our lyceum is the initiator of the MATHVLG regional tournament of mathematical battles, which contributes to the development of mass mathematics classes. Mathematics is becoming not just popular, but the norm of life, its meaning, ”said Lyceum director Larisa Tropkina.
At the All-Russian Forum of Young Teachers in Vyborg, the director of the Department for the Development of Pedagogical Personnel and Control of Resource Management of the Ministry of Education Maria Khlopotnykh shared information on how the new certification of teachers will be held, the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Kirov region reports.
According to her, the assessment of competence will be carried out objectively, openly, impartially and regardless of personal relationships in pedagogical collectives.
“The growth of the quality of general education is directly related to the implementation of the teacher’s professional qualities, knowledge and skills. The results of attestation, as well as the presence and assessment of professional competencies, are important in assessing teacher’s work. We provide our teachers with the opportunity to grow and fulfill. In addition, it is necessary to create conditions for the cooperation of teachers, ”- said Maria Khlopotnykh.
The official noted that the new certification model will objectively and accurately reflect the professional level of each teacher.

Of course, these are emotions, but they have a basis! Especially when the developers of the new certification do not want to enter into an honest dialogue with teachers. At a conference organized in November, summing up an alleged public comment, it was obvious that collecting “opinions” was just for show. Or to implement a government contract and harmonize the interests of clans around the department.
How I went to enlighten
I registered for the conference on the efom.rf website and got there without any problems, which made me happy. I thought, this is real openness to society. In the assembly hall of the Ministry of Education, however, suspicions revived again.
The mise-en-scene itself – the developers on the podium on the stage, and everyone else in the role of grateful listeners – already suggested who was in charge. Therefore, being an optimist, I decided to check if this is just our national culture of organizing events? When given the opportunity to ask a question, I immediately used the microphone.
The question was extremely simple: “Why do we need such a sophisticated, complex certification system, examples of which are not found anywhere in the world?”. It was clear that my approach was not pleasant and, of course, I did not receive an intelligible answer. I continued to ask questions in sections where the theater was the same – a broadcast speaker and duty questions.
